Indiana local government officials’ grant and contract considerations

Local government officials consider factors in awarding grants and contracts to nonprofits.

Data from the periodic surveys by the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (IACIR) finds that Indiana Local government officials (LGOs) rate quality of services as the single most important consideration when awarding grants and contracts to nonprofits. LGOs also rated organizational capacity significantly more important than their own contract management capacity.

In this brief written by faculty member Kirsten Grønbjerg, along with Anna Doering, you'll find answers to questions like "What considerations are most important when LGOs award grants and contracts to nonprofits?" and "Why would LGOs provide grants and contracts to nonprofits?"
